Sunwin WN-18 18kW Rack-Mounted Air Cooled Load Bank
1. Product Overview
The Sunwin WN-18 is an 18kW rack-mounted air cooled load bank with a reliability rate unrivaled on the market, specifically designed to support airflow testing and cooling system verification within the facility. With three-phase 400Vac input and 18kW rated power, it precisely simulates the heat generation and airflow characteristics of IT equipment through adjustable airflow and real power loading, providing reliable evidence for data center airflow management and heat dissipation verification.
Powered by 10 forced-air cooling fans with an airflow volume of ≥5508 m³/h, the WN-18 offers flexible airflow adjustment from 0 to 100% (tolerance ±2%), and with fin-type heating resistive tubes and multiple temperature protections, it is widely used in data centers, generators, power systems, new energy sources and laboratory testing.
2. Key Features
2.1 Variable Airflow Simulation
The unit supports five airflow levels of 0, 30%, 60%, 90% and 100% with an airflow tolerance of ±2%, precisely simulating the airflow characteristics of servers and IT equipment. It verifies whether rack airflow organization, HVAC fresh-air systems and cooling paths meet design requirements, making it an essential tool for data center airflow testing.
2.2 High-Efficiency Forced-Air Cooling
Equipped with 10 forced-air cooling fans (26Vdc) providing a total airflow volume of ≥5508 m³/h, the unit adopts a front air inlet and rear air outlet airflow path consistent with standard rack cooling direction, efficiently removing load-generated heat for stable long-duration continuous testing.
2.3 Three-Phase Independent Fine Loading
The unit supports independent three-phase load control, with phases L1, L2 and L3 each configured with 1+2+3kW load steps for a total of 18kW. Flexible load combination across phases meets the unbalanced load testing and fine loaded testing requirements of three-phase power equipment.
2.4 Multiple Temperature Protection
The unit integrates thermal emergency cut-out with two-stage temperature protection: an 80°C red light alert and a 90°C trip off, together with contactor thermal protection, safeguarding both the equipment and the test environment.
2.5 Compact Rack Design with Portability
Adopting a rack-mount structure with 5 foldable handle clips, the unit is easy to install and move, and can be flexibly deployed in standard equipment racks, test benches and on-site test stations. Load connections use a TYP325 (32A five-pin plug connector) for fast and reliable wiring.
3. Main Technical Specifications
4. Typical Applications
For data centers, the unit supports equipment room airflow testing, cooling system verification, and loaded testing of UPS and backup generators, simulating real IT loads to verify that power distribution and cooling systems meet design and operation requirements. For generators and power systems, it supports factory inspection, acceptance testing and power system load testing.
For new energy applications, it verifies the performance of inverters, energy storage and new energy power equipment. For laboratory testing, its variable airflow and fine loading capability make it suitable for R&D verification, burn-in testing and standards compliance testing.
