1. Product Overview
During the operation of generator sets, single-phase grounding is the most common fault. When arcing ground fault occurs at the fault point, it can further expand insulation damage to the stator windings and even cause the iron core to burn and sinter. If not detected and cleared quickly, the fault can develop into phase-to-phase or turn-to-turn short circuit, resulting in severe losses.
For this reason, high resistance grounding of the generator neutral is widely adopted internationally, using a neutral grounding resistor to limit ground fault current and prevent the hazards of various overvoltages, with well-established operational experience. The Sunwin Neutral Grounding Resistor Cabinet (NGR Cabinet) is designed for exactly this application, serving as essential equipment for the safe operation of generators and power systems.
2. Product Features
2.1 Generator Protection
The unit effectively limits ground fault current, reducing the risk of generator damage from overcurrent, preventing further insulation damage to stator windings and the iron core caused by arcing ground faults, and extending the service life of the generator.
2.2 Improved System Stability
By precisely controlling ground fault current, the resistor cabinet reduces the impact of ground faults on the power system, suppresses transient overvoltages, and improves overall system stability and power supply reliability.
2.3 Easy Maintenance
The resistor cabinet features a simple structure with convenient maintenance, effectively reducing operating costs. Specifications and functions can be customized according to customer requirements, flexibly adapting to different generator sets and engineering applications.
3. Operating Environment
The Sunwin Neutral Grounding Resistor Cabinet offers wide environmental adaptability: altitude up to 3000m; ambient temperature from -30°C to +50°C; relative humidity not exceeding 95% (at 25°C); installation sites free of chemically corrosive gases and vapors and without explosive dust; grid frequency of 48–52Hz (50Hz system) or 58–62Hz (60Hz system); suitable for both indoor and outdoor installation; under normal conditions the neutral point displacement does not exceed 3% of the operating phase voltage.
Note: Specifications and functions can be customized according to customer requirements.
